UAE approved to establish an embassy in Israel

The UAE cabinet on Sunday approved the establishment of an embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel. State media said that Israel had also announced the opening of its embassy in Abu Dhabi.

In August 2019, the UAE and Israel agreed to normalize relations. At the same time, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco all agreed to establish ties with Israel in the deals signed in 2020 under the leadership of former US President Donald Trump’s administration.

The Israeli government considers Jerusalem as its capital, although it is not recognized by most of the international community. Palestinians claim East Jerusalem as the capital of the future Palestinian state. Most countries have their embassies in Tel Aviv.

Let us tell you that Trump had made a landmark agreement between UAE-Israel in August to normalize the relationship. Trump announced that Bahrain has also reached an agreement with Israel to normalize relations. Simultaneously, Trump had said that the ceremony would start a new era towards peace in the region.
