MAGNETOM Lumina 3 Tesla MRI scanner, the latest device developed by Siemens Healthineers has recently earned FDA clearance in the United States. The device with its 70 cm bore can fit patients who are relatively wider and the entire process speeds up thanks to the artificial intelligence technologies incorporated in the device. Moreover, unlike the currently used scanners, the MAGNETOM Lumia 3 Tesla MRI scanner can suppress sound making it a lot quieter because of the 3D Petra with Quet Suite technology used in it. Interestingly, to engage child patients or adults who are impatient, the scanner has an optional audio/ video system for entertainment.
A 20% pace up in exams including whole spine scans is being claimed by Siemens Healthineers pertaining to their GO technologies that rely on artificial intelligence. Additionally, in a case of brain exam, with minimal preparation required, the performance is up to five times faster. Faster throughput patient to patient is possible as the other technologies aid in making scans easy to reproduce.
As per the case requirement the scanner can be tilted given the variety of coils that includes BioMatrix/Neck 20.
Vice President of Magnetic Resonance at Siemens Healthineers North America, Jane Kilkenny gave a statement saying that Siemens Healthineers is evoloving care delivery by providing high performance with a strong return on investment with the introduction of devices such as the MAGNETOM Lumina. He further added that the patient experience is augmented with a state-of-the-art infotainment system, new speed applications that enable the provider to get the patient on and off the table faster, and lightweight and flexible coils.
